Atelier des Modistes

Couture bridal and evening gowns by Suzanne Hanley

We made a dazzling wedding reception dress for the stunning Cindy Blackman-Santana in December of 2010. We thought we’d reblog the pictures she sent us.

Her one of a kind gown featured lace hand beaded and applied with sequins in France, satin finish silk chiffon over silk crepe backed satin, with a silk charmuse lining.

Victoria is stunning in her couture gown of Italian duchesse silk satin with layers of sheer silk organza. The bodice hems and veil are all trimmed with French Chantilly lace and hand beaded at our Atelier. We even added a couture applique detail to the veil with the couples wedding logo, for the perfect finishing touch. I love every bit of it, the sweet bride and her wonderful family.

Gia Canali Photography has a lovely new website and features one of my favorite gowns.
The photos are stunningly gorgeous!

Love the whole vibe

Effortlessly elegant! Christina’s gown was created by Suzanne Hanley at Atelier des Modistes of a pale apricot French Chantilly lace over a heavy silk crepe. One of my favorites!

I’ve been doing quite a few gowns in this amazing metallic French Chantilly lace, but it’s hard to imagine how it looks in bright light. This photo of Alison & Jeremy at Lake Tahoe was taken by the talented Kate Weber on a lovely sunny day.

Lindsay’s couture knee length dress has metallic Chantilly lace over a silk taffeta sweetheart bodice. The skirt is also silk taffeta with classic box pleats for a fit and flare look.

We want to welcome the Year of the Horse with one of our favorite dresses:

Jess is wearing a Victorian inspired couture gown with a bustle back. The main fabric is shirred silk organza sewn together with strips of antique French Val lace. It is trimmed with hand built flowers, and pearls down the center front.

Jasmine is wearing a couture gown featuring alencon lace over italian silk satin, and is very similar to our Blythe Gown. The tulle over skirt is a separate piece and ties at the waist with a lovely petersham ribbon.

Tallulah features a strapless, sweetheart neckline with a low back. The built in bodice structure to a bit below the waist gives support to the bust and definition to the waist. This playfully dramatic ball gown is a stunning floral silk taffeta artfully draped across the bodice, flowing into the petals of the skirt. The petals peek open at the hem to reveal the soft gathered tulle underskirt. The base gown is 100% silk taffeta , lining and petticoat in 100% silk taffeta. The multiple layers of crinoline and soft tulle gently support the “petals” of the overskirt.

Tallulah is available in many fabric combinations, cocktail and floor length, and varied neckline options.
